I strictly mountain bikeDid you try to do the Sellla Ronda by bike?
Definitely more German based. A little to heavy then I would like but still good. The hotel looks great but ultimately out of my tight arse league. Have you found the food to be mainly German based or Italian or a mix?
When we stayed in Arabba just prior to Covid the language spoken at the hotel was Italian and the food had a distinct Italian bent.
There is a suggestion that the Sella Pass is the point that determines whether the hotels and restaurants and shops will be mainly Italian or German based. South of it being Italian obviously.
Here’s a mix of food from today’s Refugio lunchDefinitely more German based. A little to heavy then I would like but still good.
This rich food has been messing with my belly.
That's the classic "Kaiserschmarrn" dessert -- named after Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph the First. I mentioned it while at Brandnertal ten years ago (scroll toward the bottom). The pancake is intentionally torn into pieces during the cooking process.A type of German pancake

As I recall, Schmarrn is an Austrian/Bavarian word meaning "mess," so the translation is basically "the emperor's mess." Delicious but not for the calorie-conscious.

Nor on the pasta platethere is no green on that schnitzel plate.
Food looks lovely - particularly the venison. And those beans would be in grave danger if I was in attendance.
YepThis is your half-board hotel?
Food-wise? How?I have a difficult time in Europe.
As a teen in upstate NY (before I stopped eating meat), we had neighbors who were hunters. Every year, they'd end up with way too much venison in their freezer and gave it away to friends, including us. My mother would try to sneak it into a variety of dishes (stews, even pasta sauce) and I'd always notice because it was so brutally gamey. Gah!Food looks lovely - particularly the venison.
Lack of green veg. Too much ham and cheese and bread.Food-wise? How?
Rain til 4 todayLooks like you had a change in weather! I had to look up the stupid lock thing:
Padlocks on a bridge, known as love locks, are a tradition where couples place a locked padlock on a bridge as a symbol of their eternal love, often etching their initials on the lock and throwing the key into the river. This practice has spread globally, but it poses structural risks to bridges due to excessive weight and can contribute to pollution from the discarded keys. Consequently, some cities have removed these locks, with the most famous example being Paris's Pont des Arts, and have made the practice illegal.
