Took my long awaited trip to this private resort. Its members only but allows the public in on weekdays- $30 adult. Conditions were excellent- powder and packed powder. Seems to be about 2' in the woods. They're sort of anal about grooming- corduroy everywhere but maybe they were just prepping for the weekend. They do have excellent glades (which I don't go in but my kids were all over them). The one ungroomed trail I found was chopped up by the time I got to it but it had about 1' of fresh. No ice anywhere on the mountain. I worked the entire mountain from east to west and hit virtually every slope. No lines or crowds whatsoever.

Holimont is right next to Holiday Valley. I'd say its not as steep in general but the skiing is very comparable- spread out along a ridge. The beginner hill is excellent and fun for most skill levels. They do have several bump runs that look pretty good and the lake effect powder machine has been in high gear all year. They also have the best, most comfortable, lodge I've ever seen.
