Hunter 12/25

What do New York Jews do on Christmas? We go skiing followed by Chinese takeout for dinner.
Hunter is at it's finest on these days. With cold temps for the past 2 weeks the place was a packed powder paradise. Our gang (9 of us) roamed the the entire mountain. The star of day was a run on the West Side called Annapurna. 1400 vertical of fall line skiing. Covered top to bottom side to side with carveable bumps. The West Side of Hunter has some of the longest most challenging runs east of the Rockies.

I was hoping to hit it before this "stuff" fell from above and probably iced it up. Have to get some reports before I head up Monday.

Jason ... don't know Hunter well enough to tell if the first pic is the "Y" chair or the "Z" chair?" Bottom of Claire's or Westway? Not sure if it's fog or were they blowing on Purna?

I'll tell you one thing .... I wouldn't have believed the report about 1400 feet of bumps covered in truly carveable manmade, but after last weekend, I believe.

Jason's kids are cute but hand them the camera so we can see ChefWeatherman rippin it.

Maybe I should convert .... I'd take bumps at Hunta over Christmas anyday.

Heh, Sharon gave me the same Chinese takeout rap too... I literally had no idea.

On our local cable news they went to the movie theater yesterday in Syracuse burbs and interviewed the people who were there...all were clearly Jewish (based on their seemingly Jewish names) and one of the people said that they were going out for Chinese food afterward. Nothing was mentioned about their cultural identity, religion, or the holiday...just the fact that the only thing that is open on Xmas is the movie theatres and Chinese Restaurants. My mother went to a movie and out for Chinese food with her friends in NJ.

Chinese Food is The Traditional Jewish Christmas Dinner.

We got take-out...but when I popped in to get our food, it was pretty busy with people who do not celebrate Xmas.
