whistler right now. my girl les just called from whistler with a report. she's on one of those free press trips right now and her report from the cat skiing day yesterday was, "survival skiing at best, from shin slicing breakable crust to thigh deep mank with a couple of folks with new knee injuries". "todays resort skiing was doable with variable at best conditions, nothing worth being out here for, can't wait to come home and ski"-that's my girl. a free trip is a free trip, ya she'll be on another one at snowbird in two weeks, maybe it'll be snowing by then.
this storm about to hit this weekend could be the perfect storm, more on that later.

Although I went to one of the snowiest ski areas in Canada, the conditions I've had so far this year in the East have nothing to be ashamed of,au contraire. :P :P :P

In fact, since early February 2007...it's been incredible. \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ But please don't tell :-$ , we'll let others live with their preconceived notions of grandeur.

Patrick, I think that you missed the two operative words in the subject line: "right now".

Here, Rog, I'll complete your sentence for you:

"...Alabama."

That's about all I can think of.

i will surely great you with a peck on each cheek when our paths cross again this year on mount washington on june 10th. maybe we'll be adding another 3-500 vert this year to the 500+- vert of perfect corn we were lapping last year on that day.

no admin, i'd really rather be in alabama than utah right now, at least it's precipitating something there, heck aren't they getting more rain in inches than you guys are expecting in snow.

I didn't know there was night skiing at Alta?

It's been snowing since 3pm here. The only question I have is where am I going to put all this extra snow? Snowbanks are already pretty high.

No, but there is at Brighton (and PCMR), enough light that sonny boy was able to hit the rails in the park and fracture his clavicle. I'm typing this from the ER waiting room.

Powmow has legit night skiing. You could be breaking your clavicle "right now" there, or for that matter mountain creek.

Ouch! On the other hand, you heal pretty fast when you are young. Give him my (and Susan's) regards.

OUCH!!!

Memories of 1987. :? Broken clavicule night skiing at Bromont on a University ski trip I organized.

All my best for you guys.

Memories of 1971 (Record snow year in Montreal, Ottawa and some other places).

17cm has fallen from the first wave, second and biggest wave is later this afternoon/evening. I don't want to jinx, so I'm not talking about the number of expected snow I just heard on the radio. Centre of the storm looks like it's going to be Pembroke. Need to get ready to go. Have fun... \:D/ \:D/

Guess you will not be traveling into the states for your ski trip then? Nothing but wet down here but hopefully some backlash snow tonight. I will report back from Jay tomorrow and can also provide what things look like along I-93 on the way back.

Although I appreciate Rog's unbridled optimism, I would rather be skiing any where that has fresh powder and not rain rain right now.

riv,

Maybe I'll see you there. I'm headed up today and will be at Jay tomorrow hoping for the best. Maroon Karbon jacket, black stickered helmet, black pants, orange boots. Probably with my son in an orange jacket. Keep your fingers crossed. Sounds like it's going to be really breezy. If I see you I'll buy you an adult beverage. 8)

I think I'll just stay home..............and watch movies of what I could be skiing................if I didn't live on Long Island. Did enough ice skating at Tahoe this weekend.

Well...I'd rather be almost anywhere than in the Emergency Room...good luck with the recovery Admin Jr.

Go getum Patrick!
