Is now the best time to buy ski gear?

What are you looking at, anyway? I feel like the more niche the gear, the less it goes on sale, right?
I think so — the more niche the brand, the fewer discounts you see. It's actually the mainstream stuff that goes on sale all the time. I'm looking to upgrade my prescription goggle insert this year, currently comparing SportRX, ApexSpecs, and Optical — but none of them have any deals right now.

With a couple days before the holiday weekend, here is what the local news has for ski sales:

Denver Labor Day ski sales

Do you ever visit the Bentgate Mountaineering store? I have ordered from them online many times and try to stop in

I know you must have a decent amount of race-oriented gear, but I assume your backcountry kit is healthy too.

I am still horrified that you have to quickly replace your bag of missing ski gear. Despite airline compensation, you can't replace that overnight.

I actually have never been to that particular store. As you might imagine having been associated in various capacities to the local race team for a couple decades I/we have some long standing relationships with the various stores in Boulder and Ned and a few other very specialty retailers. Not to mention some of the top outdoor brands having US HQ's (mostly) in Boulder as well.

Yeah, SportRX is pretty expensive, they're an established brand. Just heard of ApexSpecs, I've been looking into this brand too. Haven't heard of the other one. Let me know which one you ended up getting — I wanna get one for my girlfriend too. She always skis with regular glasses, and I think it's dangerous.

Not sure why this is a state secret. If you tell us what you want, maybe someone here will have a constructive suggestion.
Haha, no misunderstanding — it's not some big secret. I just didn't want to seem like I was shilling, so I didn't name the brand. It's just a goggle insert. I've been looking into the ApexSpecs insert Pro, compared a bunch of brands. Theirs is a new design, while everyone else is still using the same design from 10 years ago. But I still haven't caught a deal on it.

Not exactly about buying ski gear but my wife just got her yet to be skied skis out to look at. Most people keep skis and gear in a garage I believe. We don’t.
