Is the East Coast season finished? (powder-wise, that is)

I hope no one advised GPaul to ski Easter Week in the East this year. :stir:

You recall that GPaul trip's focus would have been in Quebec City.

Worst two months snow wise in maybe over 80 years up here...with odds like that, I'd advise anyone again that the plan given was good.

Although Powderfreak doesn't post here much anymore, he still provides fantastic updates on the conditions, so I'll pass along his report from this week. The snow depth at the Mt. Mansfield stake hit 90 inches this week, which, while not outrageous, is still the highest it's been this season. On SkiVT-L, Ben Bloom provided an excellent photograph of Mt. Mansfield that he took yesterday; I suspect most skiers around here have found themselves gawking at that view... at least when it's not snowing. I know I've been staring at Sunset Ridge a lot from here in Burlington, wishing the boys were at a level to tackle it. I'm becoming more and more convinced that the season wasn't finished around here back when this thread started, powder or otherwise. I've got some reports and photos of my own to catch up on from the past couple of days in the Vermont snow updates, hopefully I can get to some of those this evening.

To quote the great Richard Crenna ( First Blood )fame...

" It's over Johnny!!!"

...to quote John Belushi...Animal House......

"...Over?! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?! .......Nothing's over until we say it is..........come on, who's with me? Ahhhhhhhhh!(running out of the room)"

Two climbers were swept 800 feet down Dodge's Drop in an avalanche next to Tuckerman's Ravine a couple days ago. Couple feet of windblown powder. No serious injuries, thankfully. Very fortunate. Apparently there was a skier ascending Hillman's with the intention of decending via Dodge's. There will still be some powder days.....but not many. 8)
