that's why we went...figured the snow would be good...and in fact better than it was on thursday.

my friends who went xc in the state forest again today (I went yesterday) said it was also surprisingly good. They stayed out for 5 1/2 hours...which is quite a long time considering how it was coming down.

That least there isn't any huge line up on day like that. 8-[

Tell you what. You keep your empty lifts and freezing rain, and I'll take my 38" and 10-minute first liftline. I'm fine with that. Capiche?

Snowed all day in town today.

You should tell that to PQ, you're not the only one that scored a 38" of new snow this weekend. Same state different day and powder!!! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ But I have to admit that it took a while before getting on that first lift. TR maybe tomorrow if I can get over this non-skiing stuff. ](*,) The price to pay I guess for skipping away from the home stuff.

It looks like winter is finally here. We received a total of 38" of snow on Friday and the skiing and riding today were absolutely fantastic. If you weren't here today you don't know what you missed.

I agree. My days of skiing in the rain are long gone. There is nothing worst than skiing in freezing rain!! I'd rather rest my legs in a liftline after tracking up fresh powder, any day!!

Skiing in less than ideal conditions makes one really appreciate the bluebird days with 2 feet of fresh powder that lay ahead.

In the meantime, we had fun, weren't cold or wet. Having the right gear really helps.

And, as an added bonus, it also builds character  .

Oh, and it was definitely better than staying indoors all day watching football or whatever. And, to top it off, after skiing, I was able to get some of my weekend chores done, so my day was balanced and productive. I didn't spend the whole weekend driving and it cost me very little.

It would've been nice if our seasons passes gave us access to the Waterpark. Hell, if it was even open to the public for an admission fee, I might consider going, especially on a day like Sunday. You need to book a night at the Lodge to get access or be an owner of a unit. Pretty lame if you as me.

Next week I'm traveling to the Adks and VT, so it will be a bit more costly, but will be a nice week away before the crowds hit the mountains. The news is from the weather geeks, that cold weather is coming and snow is likely. If all goes well, we'll get snowed in and won't get home before Xmas.

Glad it's finally dumping in the Wasatch. Hopefully it will be all filled in and stabilized by the time we get there, and the locals will have their powder fixes fixed so that us visitors don't have to wait in long lines all day and we'll have abundant and stable terrain to ski.
