Jay Peak 1/22

Got up early and headed for Jay. Ate some breakfast with the crew at the Miss Lyndonville Diner at 6:45 and took off for the mountain. Even though it was bitterly cold there was no wind (Rarity at Jay). Everyone in my group was well dressed and we enjoyed the lack of crowds until noontime (Once the tour busses show up things tend to get crowded). We got some sweet first tracks consisting of some near knee deep in the glades. We worked the glades all day as it was too cold to go whipping down the mountain at 40 mph. It was a long shot from the best day I've ever had at Jay but I would still rate it as "good". The base is still quite thin in places and the whole mountain could use another 8+ inches to bring conditions into "very good" shape.
