Started out the moning on 1st tram. Third person with their skis on. Skied green beret, nice and soft, but extremely windblown as expected. The small drop in the middle of the trail had a great landing. From there we skied over to the Jet took a run into the ''orchard'' great snow, still a few untracked lines. Took the same run again and a few more times after 3rd run is when all hell broke loose. I don't think I have ever seen such bad lines at the Jay. The red chair had a few tech difficulties and the jet was the only lift running stateside. We then skied the dip, very nice. Snow on the bottom descent to road was deep. Someone is going to get killed there by one of these aholes blowing through there in their p.o.s. minivans, they seemed to be the fastest. We then stood in line again solid 20-25 minute wait. Days like today they should have the guy with coco pump on their back getting people to think about something else. People were analyzing cost/run. Got real cold after working up a sweat on the way down. Took one more in the dip and called it a day. WAY TOO MANY people. My car was in the upper lot tramside, took a good 15 minutes to get out of the resort. I don't think I have seen so many cars at Jay ever.
Here is the bad part. The Jay Peak marketing dept did their job getting people there this weekend, too many. The road ways were littered with cars. Their advertisement of 60'' is a little far fetched, 40+ yes. It was a mess single wide accesss everywhere, reminded me of all of the ski areas I try to avoid. Bill S. was out there dealing with traffic, I think he should have been meeting and greeting at the lift. There is not even enough lodging in the n.e.k. to house all of the people.
