After being covered in ice last weekend, Jay Peak was blessed with the best snow they had since december. Over the last week, more then 24-28in fell over the mountain. This weekend was going to be promissing... very promissing.
We got to Jay on saturday with one goal: Virgin Powder! Since the reporting at Jay has been a bit to overkill this season, we were hoping for snow... just not that much. Everywhere in the woods you could find deep snow... As a warm up, we went on the jet side and takled in the woods.
Then we went for steeper stuff with some nice drops to keep us warm. We went into a nicely cut and super steep chute and found a nice little 6 footer drop
Then we realized the snow was deep indeed! We got on top of a nice treetop drop that had snow and smooth landing
Guillaume went in and dropped in the sweet white stuff
And this white stuff was everywhere
With that much snow, you could drop anything in sight without any fear:
Guillaume enjoyed to sink in the deep stuff
But then it got serious... We went into the face to see what was available to ride but also "How much" was available to ride... We were in heaven... busting turns in waist deep snow with face shots after another.
At the end of the day we found a nice launch with clear landing and couldn't resist
This weekend was exactly what we've been waiting for in months... It got us back in winter mode and couldn't dream of anything else for now. The weather was cold and the winds were blowing... so much that while in the woods, you could get into a sudden white-out once the wind started blowing trough the stuffed up tree.
Our prayers were anwered and this week is suppose to be even snowier... i feel a sudden fever right now... cough cough... Oh this is making me sick!
