Here it is

18 new trails + 8 new glades = 102 trails for Jay Peak next year. (there is one "new" this year, under the metro quad)

I think I will have a serious reason to ski JP in 2004-05, me !!

What are your thoughts about this new side ? On my side, I appreciate it, cause I don't have nothing to lose with this resort, but for the Jay lovers, what are your opinion about this new side ?

I think the new bowl will offer some of the deepest snow on the mountain. The prevailing NW wind should scour the ridge on the opposite side and deposit even more snow, much like the Camels Hump on Mount Washington gets scoured and dumps into Tucks.Looks like we'll get 1500+- vertical feet out of it.The only negative thing I can forsee is the runout looks real flat, making for lots of poleing in powder and lots of walking for knuckle draggers. The new lift that will drop us off at the top of Beaver Pond and BBP should help relive congestion at the G.M. Flyer.
I sure hope they get this project moving, but as they said on the website, they still have not applied for the nessasarry permits, however they do already own all the land.Let's hope the tree huggers dont put up a big stink. They usually find some rare moss or lichen and gum up the expansion.Hopefully the Northeast Kingdom has more tree skiers than tree huggers!
((*
*))NHPH
