Humans everywhere. After 3 good days (well 2 good) in October, wednesday at Killington hiking by ourselves, and skiing cannon on friday, it was a rude awakening to remember that skiing is typically done with others around.
In all honesty, we never waited more than 5 minutes for a lift ride, Skied mostly the glades chair, but lapped the gondi late in the day. One ride up the snowdon quad too. It was pretty bulletproof, a lot of controlled sliding. I was real glad I'd skied a half dozen days already and didn't have to find my legs on this stuff. First day of the year I've used the east coast ice weapons as opposed to the fat boys. We stopped at 1 went over to pico for a bite of lunch, and came back around 2, and the place was desserted. Granted it was a bit hard packed, but hell, we skied until 430. Some ok bumps on lower snowdon. Had some run ins with some jumps built into trees. All in all a great way to start the lift served season. And in all honesty I've got to give Kton props, they may have opened late, but they opened in style with a variety of terrain to ski on. Multiple ways down, while other mountains are scrambling...
Someone let me know if you can see the pictures in the album below.
