Got to the mountian at 5 after 9, Parking lot had a lot of cars considering that 1/4 many people bought the cheap mid-week passes.
THe only thing running was the Snowden quad. K-1 and superstar were on wind hold, but they were still moving carts to K-1 so i got on Snowden and shuffeled my way down over to Highline for a fresh line all to myself, not even wind scoured! only to hop immediatly in line for car number 5 up k-1 as they decided to open it up!......First tracks down Cascade and man was that a good choice! No windloading, pure powder on one of the longest steepest pitchs killington has to offer(IMHO). RUN, back to k-1 to grab another set of first tracks down a super steep gnarly line off of double dipper, which had tons of wind loading, I couldn't see the entire way through, just face shot after face shot! I have never had some many face shots both on the trails and in the trees.
Huff and puff to k-1 again for another, and another and another!
Everything seems fair game there now! I hit no rocks and everything was covered up. Glad i didn't go up on Sunday as the didn't open up k-1 all day sunday, which meant most the weekend warriors were heading home, leaving me with all the goods.
I have never seen so much snow at killington before. Everything seems covered up.
I can't wait to do it again!!!!
