REPORT #1
KILLINGTON ON WED: PURE PERFECTION-THE BEST DAY OF SKIING EVER
BRETTON ON THURS: PURE PERFECTION-THE BEST DAY OF SKIING EVER
NOW THE REAL REPORT- AND I'LL ADRESS THE ABOVE NAMED DONKEYS LATER  :
k on wed: all groomed out again. arrived at about 9 to blue sky and about 50f at the base. a lot softer than last week right out of the gate. by 12 the mush/oatmeal piles were begining to form... it really became labor between 12 and 230. by 230 some firmed up mounds with some lines started to form off the headwall and the top of the bottom headwall on skiers left. the middle was junk from 11 on... the bottom part of the bottom headwall that they have left to bump up is still slanted, tilted crap. about a 15 mph wind kept it nice and cool all day. beautiful day weather wise to be skiing. hooked up with our friend bump master greg from ny state. he was down at the bottom of the lift rallying people to go in to the office and demand the end of the nightly grooming. he said he got about 20 people to sign the petition. also hooked up with our friend b, the winner of the bear mogul challenge this year for females. she was just as disgusted as the rest of us. no bare spots at all cept for the top skiers right of the headwall on SS. still 3 ways down off the Q. definitely less of the usual mogul posse out for sure.. but greg was getting people pretty fired up... less racers than previous week. the hot rumor was that the grooming is going to stop on may 1. i guess we will see
Bretton on thurs: the miserable forcast for thurs made it tough to stay over and pay at K so we said we would drive back to lincoln and see if the weather might change course. it didn't as of 7am thurs. since it appeared to be moving in from the west, we figured we would try and burn so we figured we would trya nd beat the front and burn some turns at bretton before driving home. it was 2 for 1 so it cost 15 . it was us and 5 other sickies . raining hard at the outset , tapered off about 11 and picked back up at 130. it was 2 trails. groomed flat. soft snow but a little more firm than the day before. the wind really kicked in about 2 so we threw it in. about 20 runs total. temps were in the upper 40's. they will make it to the big bode miller throw down  this weekend but that should be it.
back on tuesday and wed from K for what looks like great weather.

THE DATES R CORRECT- THE DAYS R NOT- WE SKIED ON TUES AND WED.. THE JOB I HAVE MAKES IT SO I AM NOT SURE WHAT DAY IT IS HALF THE TIME

Hey Joe- glad you're still posting after all the verbal abuse from the 'loafers. I guess some people don't want their favorite mountain blasted- I can't get to these places to ski so at least hearing what's out there is something.

I especially like those who decided that because you didn't have a good experience you were an unworthy skier.

Keep on writing- I'll probably get the flame mail for defending you!

Cheers

I'd rather be at the
frontrange

I skied at Killington on April 30th and May 1st, and boy oh boy did I HATE the fact that they groomed the open trails, no wait I am not joegm, I actually had FUN on the groomed trails, even with the in rain/fog/wind. I guess that I am one of those boring, pathetic people that likes to race down the trails    .

i think we should burry this and move on, no need to bring up the old wounds just to inflict new ones...

You guys are unbelievable. Can't you just drop it and leave the board for ski reports and talk? Grow up, how about it? What's the big deal? One person didn't like Sugarloaf and said so. Okay- a bunch of Sugarloaf admirers came back and said its a great mountain. Probably true- wish I didn't live 900 miles away and could find out. You can always vote with your dollars and ski the place you like the best.

You should all feel honored to be able to get any turns this time of the year in the east- instead all you do is dis each others skiing and ski areas. In fact I know a lot of people who can't even afford to ski- given that everyone here is able to take off and ski/ride lets see- 30 times per year at $50/a shot- $1500 plus another $500 for skis plus another $1000 for travel expenses- spend say $3000 per year for skiing (and that's a low number), just be thankful you can get out and hit the slopes.

Simply amazing. It wouldn't bother me in the least if Tony or Marco deleted both of these lines just to stop them.

Thank you and have a great day!
