Last Saturday, I went skiing at La Réserve in Lanaudière. With all the mild weather + the r@!n in the past week, I wasn't expecting to ski the extreme runs such as Chute-Libre (my favorite run in the east) ;) , Pirouette, Boisé and the Lavoie. The 2 last ones that I mentioned are extremes rocky glades :) After the r@!n, they received about 2-3 inches of snow :)

This was my favorite trail of the day. Usually, in the first rocky pitch (2nd picture) is not the best because of mega blue ice and rocks but this time was just great with no ice :)

The views were awesome too

The intermediates glades were in good conditions with almost no bare spots. Impressive for April 9th :)

After a while skiing in the same area, I went try the Upper Pirouette. It was really in good conditions compare to a few weeks a go where it was too dangerous 'cause of the blue ice. If it doesn't rain to much, it will be skiable in 2 weeks

And finally, here is a picture of our famous trail that we ski 'till late May early June. There is a lot more snow this year compare to last year. Below the man made snow, there is about 2' of natural snow :)

So this was one of my best spring skiing day so far. I just hope to ski 'till June there :D

LOL

Eric was posting on FTO last year you know.

He's one of the moderators of ZoneSki actually

It's cool to see your report here Eric... and it's so nice to see that amount of snow on the LG this year... As it looks way less steeper than last year at this date, it means that there is way more snow in the canyon. I'll try to get some comparative pics this morning.

Weird... at first looking I was thinking there was more snow than last year, but comparing with pics from last year, I'm not sure anymore. There is less snow in the runout of the canyon, this is sure, unfortunately... but for the canyon, it's tough to say, but there may be less snow than last year...

But last spring was really warm. If it's just a little bit less warm, we should be able to keep skiing there late in may or even in june.

we'll see in the coming weeks / months

My G*d... I can see a big difference beetween 2003 and 2005 :x But this year, it seems that there is a bit more snow on left side (when you look from the bottom)
