The good: no wind, not crowded and it and is snowing and was snowing as of about 1pm today

The not so good: one of us was here on wed and it rained for 10 hours straight....the result is a pure ice base with a little rock salt on top...yeah , it's an ice base all right....it was not very good...it started snowing about 1 and still is snowing now in lincoln....only about 3 inches total so far though...there is a feel in the air that it is close to changing over to rain or sleet...they had essentially 3 and 1/2 ways down on mostly blue squares....walking boss is open top to bottom, for whatever that is worth which is not much....it was about 30F all day ....gonna hang in there and see how it is in the am on fri as the driving looks treacherous right now... probably will ski if the snow looks somewhat substantial...they have guns layed out all over , but were not and are not blowing as we speak....

Another Loon exercise in masochism...

To be fair, this time joegm would have had to drive a long way to do any better. I'll admit to not being as hard core as some of the easterners, as I would be taking a pass now until conditions improve.

I might be called hardcore, but conditions are amazing in these parts. So busy right now with kitchen and stuff, the only powder I get to see is walking through it (like Wednesday) or seeing it while heading the 3km from house to home during Ottawa first transit strike since 1996. #-o

Saturday? 1 music pratice, 2 birthday parties, 1 wife activity.
Sunday? Music concert

I've been trying to buy a car for the last 2 weeks, but haven't been able to find the time between sick kids, school stuff, work pilling up, etc.

Looking no one is posting TRs with pics from Québec on FTO (but I'll tortude myself in searching the best pics from some TRs that I haven't read or watched (vids)). I know Anthony might at one point if he's not stuck in the same pre-Christmas/kids cycle as I am. Some of these might be in French, but pictures tell the story.

Hey Patrick , you said it tied up with all the mid life suburban stuff but managed to secure the car tomorrow for 6 hours so will probably head over to Alta with the kids as they are planning to crank up the old chair at 10.00 am for the opening day . Should be a lot of Zone -Ski guys there for first tracks of the season . Last year opening day was amazing so hopefully tomorrow will be just as good. Now I gotta go as have to get all the stuff ready :?

Hey Joe , realize this conversation has nothing to do with Loon , so hope the weather gets better for you guys down south .

ironically , loon probably had the best combo of temps and elevation for the day to get a reasonable shot at a decent skiing surface and still have power to spin, outside of the stowe area.. see the report from today....and i don't think it would have been much better to be honest...K had no power at all and closed after BS'ing for the first couple of hours on their web site....to get in the car and chase what might have been snow might have been rain, in what was a pretty serious weather event would have been just stupid
