Saturday was another cold one ..... and it was humid, too. Much like last weekend, good skiing could be found if you tuned up & polished your powder nose. Trail check was very good on Panther and the woods skied very well.
We ran some sleds with Tiger conducting the show. Tiger is heavily involved with the Vermont National Guard and his militarism shows on these exercises. I did the first leg running a loaded sled down upper Fall Line and he barked out some criticism but he also complemented me for being strong and aggressive and showing huge improvement over the last few years. A true patient woulda' been in good hands. Later on Upper Glade, I ran the tag line with Linc in the handles and we easily flew with my falling leaf technique really clicking on some gnarly terrain.
On Supibowl Sunday, winds huffed 'n puffed through App Gap, causing some wind hold on The Single. It also left Chipmunk under the double a porcelain wasteland and Birdland had some unsavory spots, too. I refused to go to Canyon during the weekend.
Like I said, you could find some very nice skiing if you paid attention ....... but we could only suck out so much good skiing given the dry spell we've been in and I strongly suggest that after you put on your pajamas, you say some bedtime prayers for some more snow.
