go ahead... capitolize the 'm' in magic even though i typed it lower case in the subject line.. just go ahead, i dare ya!

late start heading up to magic and made first run around 10:30. i was comped to assist the ski patrol with camera operations during a clinic they were having on rescue. most folks wouldn't know it, but these volunteers put in many hours of training every year for what they hope will never happen. definitely the unseen and unsung heros of the mountain.

was cold in the AM and the snow was fairly unforgiving. groomer warm up runs were down taliban and trick, both getting skied off quick down the center. got off the groomer for a short pitch to get the muscles warmed up, then hit up twilight which had AWESOME snow and bumps except at the very end of the trail which was very thin and rocky, difficult to navigate in general. need more snow!

sorcerer was the run of the day, but i only had time to ski it once sadly! soft edgable packed powder bumps in the sun, woo!!!! assisted in sweep by taking broomstick (a little thin, not much fun) to lucifer which had scraped bumps in the center, but occasional untouched crunchy powder on skiers far right (like, virtually into the trees far right that is, heh).

only about seven real runs, but i'll take quality over quantity any day (escpecially on a comp ticket!). here's the goods on what i didn't see but saw:

red line was skiable but thin. it didn't look very fun, but some sick birds were grinding it out. master magician also looked very thin with lots of saplings but doable for those with sick bird status. so technically, everything is open and skiable but not for the faint of heart!
