sahhhhhh-weeeeeeet! southern VT escaped from last week's rains without too much lingering effects. only a few of the steeper and tougher trails retained signs of breakable crust. for example, i didn't see any one ski red line all day... but it probably could have been done. lucifer also looked pretty tricky, but a couple of die hards nailed it with some style and grace.

lots of excellent bumps that already had the crusty stuff broken up. twilight zone was awesome and slide of hans was my run of the day. excellent snow in both. heart of magician also had some fabulous bumps, with some crust on skier's right. master magician had some thin and nasty stuff, but most of the crust was at least broken. goniff glade needs a little more breaking up of the crust, be do-able. goniff wasn't too fun though... twilight zone gets the pick for out of those two glades.

lots of grooming at magic! all the squares and greens were groomed to perfection making for some awesome cruising! some diamonds were groomed including broomstick, sorcerer, talisman, bailout, and trick. even double diamond witch was groomed! all the groomers held out really well throughout the day with best snow on the sides of trails (as usual any where).

both double and triple were running "ski on" all day long. i think the speed of these lifts are a lot faster than most people say. sure, they're not high speed detachables, but they're not much slower than any other non-detachable lift in new england. besides, after some of the runs i took today, i could have used an even longer lift to the summit!

awesome day at magic, i'll probably be back for spring skiing. pictures will be uploaded within the next two days or so...

Great pictures and great story, River ! Magic is really in my kind of ski areas... it's sad that it's enough far from MTL ! Master Magician really looks interesting. I wonder how it looks exactly ;)
