Headed up to Snowbird this morning to meet with Bobby D for a few runs. Met on the bypass road at about 9:30. Sun was shining, and it looked to be a beautiful day.
Bobby wanted to head right over to Alta, so up Peruvian and through the DICK BASSHOLE, and down into Mineral basin so we could take MBE to the top. Headed over to the baldy gate took off the skis and made the 5-7 minute boot pack to the traverse over into Alta we were the first 2 up.
Got to the top of tombstone at alta pretty quickly and had a spectacular corn run with some fresh mixed in right down to main street. We then decided to shoot over to the wildcat road and hike up to the top of wildcat chair, again about 7 minutes of walking. Shot down through the "punchbowl" gate and over towards westward ho. Snuck down and made it to the top of upper who dunit. Still a little stiff in there at this hour, but still very manageable to the sides.
Headed right back up and did it again....this time we went all the way to Altas base, right down collins face...again...spectacular corn all the way down....
Next run we decided to head out the baldy gate but this time we cut a traverse up high over to the top of the baldy chair, near the in season entracne back to alta. Took the germ return trail over to collins and made yet another run down and then over towards the wildcat chair again....after this one I was BEAT.....that sidestep and traverse over to Baldy wasn't easy at least not for me. I called it a day once we made our way back to the cars at Snowbird. It was about 1:30....bobby was headed back for YET ANOTHER Alta run.....crazy mother that he is....
All in all a terrific day and well worth the time it took to get over to Alta multiple times.
