I took a break from teaching yesterday afternoon and went skiing around the resort with a friend.

We took chairs II, IV and VII to get to the easternmost point of the resort, at 850m (Exil trail). We then hiked to the true summit, the Round Top, altitude 968m. After enjoying the view of Jay Peak, Mansfield and the Addirondaks in the deep blue sky, we headed Northeast, skiing down to Spruce Lake, Val Sutton and down to the bottom of the valley (alt. 400m), on the other side of the small ridge that faces Sutton when skiing.

We then resumed walking from that point up to the Dos d'Orignal (Alt. 750-800m), the mountain facing Sutton, from which we did another run. That mountain faces SouthWest, but it hasn't yet been affected by the sun, and there was over 3 feet of snow cover on the ground.

Overall, a great afternoon, and excellent powder conditions.

Thanks for the report Max. It looks like the crowd was huge today at Sutton, so it was surely the best thing to hike for turns on some real terrain !

On Friday, the day of that report, lift lines were 5-10 minutes at chair II, 5 minutes at chair IV, and close to nothing on other chairs. On Saturday, though, lift lines were anywhere from 2 to 25 minutes, depending on the time and chair.
