Ahhh... the drama that is Telluride.

The entire town is full of drama queens. Sometimes I do not know if people are serious or joking when discussing any issue. Generally, I just throw logic out the window when visiting and enjoy the moment [practicing mindfulness].

I'd bet he is just trying to force them into paying money to defense lawyers to try to screw them over financially vs any realistic shot at winning any lawsuit anyway. Typical petty bully type stuff.

That's a win!

Civil Lawsuit: Despite being cleared by the town's probe, Prohaska, Wisor, and Fee were sued individually in late February 2026 by the Telluride Ski and Golf Resort for millions of dollars in damages, alleging tortious interference and civil conspiracy.

If anyone wants some light reading, Mountain Village released a 300-page report on the case: Town of Mountain Village Investigation Report (June 1, 2026)

In short, the Mountain Village report documents a remarkable episode: a sitting mayor (also a ski patroller), a town manager, and a neighboring official attempted a $127.5M private buyout of their local ski resort during a bitter labor strike — without council knowledge — setting off resignations, lawsuits, and dueling independent investigations across two towns.

In this week's Telluride drama:

Concerns over Telluride Ski Resort plans underscore lingering tensions: The Town of Telluride questions Telski’s plan to replace two doubles with fixed grips instead of detachables.

Both Lifts on the front/town side, Chair 7 (vintage 1973), and Chair 8 (vintage 1972) are slow double chairs and are over 50+ years old. The saving grace is the vertical gain over a relatively short length and the redundancy of the Gondola.

Chair 7 was supposed to be replaced in 2007 with a redevelopment of the Coonskin base area (like a mini-Lionshead). However, Telluride town officials and residents had their typical anti-development fit, and here we are 20 years later.
