I was really worried yesterday watching the cams with water drops all over them and temps at 34 degrees. But this morning it was in the low 20's and it looked like it had turned to colder snow overnight. It turns out we have 20" at the base and it's DENSE. I've seen this mountain open with way less snow than this.

Here's the skin track up Marshmellow, a beginner run off Sunrise, on our way to the higher terrain.

Looking north towards Tumalo Mountain, which has nice bowls on the other side for BC riding.

The snow was creamy powder up here at mid mountain approaching the Summit lift building at 7600 feet. Today I booted up as I forgot to throw in the snowshoes, but I didn't forget my snowboard!

My objective was the slope with the light shadows in the right quarter of the photo.

Here is the Summit Chair building from the correct angle (looking down on it). Lots of folks up hiking, there's plenty enough snow to open, let's hope management says yes and we will be riding lifts on Saturday.

Today was my seventh day on snow this season, but this is what my first run on my snowboard looked like today. Poor Pancho looks like he wants to go home! Cruel dog owner taking his dog on a hike, I should know better. PS: He's a legal dog.
