Last night's storm was about 2 feet, and it continued to snow past noon.

Baldy opened Chair 1 to skiing about 1PM and Thunder at 3:15PM. Garry got 5 runs on Thunder while it was open. He said it was definitely worth the couple of hours he waited for the opening. Consistency of snow was similar to what I experienced Saturday, not that deep but very smooth. No sun, so tomorrow in areas not open today should be a replay of Saturday, except with better coverage and fewer crowds.

Mt. Baldy's January snow total is about 9 feet now. Might be a record month for a La Nina year.
 
Garry doesn't like computers. He takes good pics, but still with film. No wonder he and Patrick got along so well at Mammoth back in June 2005. I've asked Garry before about posting here, but it's not gonna happen.

But given the high variability of Baldy conditions, I think it's worthwhile for me to relay his info from time to time.

35mm cameras come with download options now? Who'd a thunk it? What'll they come up with next?
 
We used a little pocket cam for the pictures. I took some good ones of Gary. OK Ill see what I can do. G
 
The pics by Dan-O about halfway down Page 8 of the Mammoth Forum thread are really good, skiing above the cloud layer.

I would have been sorely tempted for yesterday if I weren't leaving town today. Adam had to miss it too as he forgot his passport and had to spend most of the day getting a new one.
