Garry Klassen reports peak corn conditions at Baldy today. Chair 4 excellent in the morning and Thunder including South Bowl in the afternoon. The main steep skier packed lines on Chair 1 are still good too. It's thin under chair 1 so stay up on the hillside traverse and drop down to the lift as late as possible. He did not ski Eric's but thinks you might have to walk the last stretch to the parking lot. Coverage is still holding up well on chair 4.

Thanks for the update, Tony. I plan to go up Saturday. I thought it might be too warm, but Garry's info sounds like it will be fine. Any idea how long the snow might last on Thunder? My niece and nephew wanted to go up, but can't make it until after Easter.

Core area of Thunder should be OK well into April. I did not say Holcumac was doable. Skier's right in the scattered trees might be, but it's likely a real PITA to get over to Chair 1 afterwards, plus it's bony under the chair. I would probably take my chances with Eric's before Holumac. But the point of Garry's message is that the inbounds on Thunder and Chair 4 are so good now, why bother with the marginal stuff?

Based upon past experience I would not expect chair 4 to last much into April if the warm weather persists. Thus the recommendation to met up there now if you're in SoCal the next couple of weekends. I'm not here the next 3 weekends so I might be done with Baldy.
