Need help for good backcountry skiing

Hey guys I am a member in a club at school and trying to organize a backcountry skiing and snowboarding activity for this winter and I need your help to find the right mountain.
The students who will sign up will be mostly intermediate riders. We also plan to be there for the week-end so if there is a small place to stay near, like a small shelter or anything not too pricy would be perfect cause first tracks are always the best to have.

PS our school is in Montreal so the mountain must not be too far away. The American/Canadian border is about 1h to 1:30h.

Thx in advance guys

Wizardwd, Google for info on Gilpin Mountain, on the south side of Jay Pass just south of Jay Peak.

Now excuse me while I go hide from the northern Vermont backcountry skiers who will be looking for my head over this revelation...

Thank you very much for the info and I hope they won't hurt you too much. If this might help you in your defense I might not come with my school but maybe with my good friends, cause it seems to be more my style even tough it's not too hard terrain.
