New storm on the way

Yea, this storm is supposed to drop snow farther north than the last storm, but even with this storm (according to Accuweather), most of the heavy snow is going to be from Southern New England and south into the Mid-Atlantic. The Catskills and Berkshires may get 3 to 6 inches of snow but does not look like mid-Vermont into northern NH will not get anything from this storm either.

That about hits the nail on the head. The catskills are going to get some snow, but it won't be the 2 feet they need. Furthermore, given the temps, I bet it's made of the light and dry variety which doesn't like to stick to trails.

It looks like hunter is the mountain to hit this weekend, although I'm really wanting to go to plattekill or Belleayre, as I think the latter will be better for the lady.
 
Bell was sweet this weekend. Even the woods were fun..

as for the weather. the potential exists for the New England areas to get a significant snow..Any time you have a exploding low in or around the benchmark.All bets are off..
 
Maybe we can swing a couple runs together. I'm taking the fiancee' so it won't be fast nor too steep, but nonetheless it might be fun to meet some more FTOers.

And it looks like it will miss the northeast again......13 inches for NYC and Li and points south...and 2 to 4 for the Catskills....oh joy!! And I get stuck in NYC...
 
Blue or Elk for Weds would be ideal

we are on the fringe. Yesterday we were in the Warning Area, but now we are not :-(

I'll be happy with 3"...it will make my trails skiable again. They are skiable in sections, but I cannot complete a loop without bare areas...there are even some wet areas still exposed.

Glad I got away...it's been a really sucky Feb so far and January got really sucky after MLK weekend. Rough stretch.

If this keeps up, I may be going out west again.

You seem to know PA. If one were to be looking to take advantage or this "jackpot" for some pow/treeskiing in PA, what would you recommend? Blue? I'll google it, but in case I don't find it, what is that? Thanks!

Any experience with Elk? Other than the couple runs down the middle it appears you could have a hard time with a 1ft of snow if you ventured away from directly under the main lift

Blue is probably a better bet. They are in target for 6-10"

Elk is 3-5"

Camelback is weak, but they are in the 4-8" zone

If you can get to any of these places tomorrow, they should be great with any fresh snow. Please post a report.
 
Blue will get the most snow out of this storm. No tree skiing in the Poconos. Go off the trail and they'll kick you out.

BTW: Just got back from JHWY. Great snow and skied the Rossi S-7 (188cm) for the whole time. "Greatest ski I've ever skied on! And I've skied them all!!" (to steal from The Godfather) I may have to get a pair for my one ski quiver!!! \:D/ :-o =D>
