I agree with admin that http://www.FirstTracksOnline.com/boards/ is the appropriate bookmark. if a forum is in red, it has a new post. If River is only interested in East and Equipment, that's 2 red icons to look for and just one more click to the appropriate section. What is the big deal?
While on the subject of organization, admin also scores some points for the East/West/Midwest split, from which Epic and TGR with their greater volume would certainly benefit.
I agree there's a tradeoff between needed coverage and overwhelming volume. 90+% of the time on Epic I'm only in "Resorts, Conditions and Travel" and the rest is in the General section. But again, FTO has no regular contributor in Western Canada, and no one in the Northern Rockies since JSpin and hamdog left. Epic has at least 2 long time locals in Jackson Hole. Bob Peters is a tremendous resource for that area, even though he and I had a protracted online :snowball fight: about Jackson conditions in March. No accident Patrick and I had an afternoon powderfest with him on the January 2-006 trip.I just can't deal with the volume at Epic. To much stuff. Same goes with TGR, there are a few gems in there, but the dealing with the noise ratio when I have little time in Winter is annoying. I can deal with FTO, even if I've had no time to participate in the last few weeks.
