I had finished up with a Coffee Club ice hockey pick up game form 6am till 730, completed laying some tile by 11 and headed up to meet a friend at Park City. I was pleasantly surprised. The south and some west facing aspect where a bit hard but remained edge able. The base on this side of the wasatch in my opinion is pretty damn good. Ran up crecent lift and a warm up down to Silverload and then over to McConkeys where I had my heart set on skiing the east face of jupiter peak on a sunny day. Followed up the short bootpack with two locals and was really surprised at the snow quality and terrain. Good pitch and some neat exposure on that side. After a quick water and snack shot down to Thaynes lift to make it up to Jupiter Bowl access. I shared a lift up with a fellow named John mid 20's pro free skier who's done some movie stuff and print ads who was wanting to do some "training" in Jupiter Bowl for his Mid March trip to Haines AK to film. He invited me along and said he would show me around.
This guy was an animal on skies about 5'6" 140. Launched off everything in sight and skied fast on everything; crud, trees, wind packed, I was playing catchup on tired legs. Did a run in Scotts bowl , portuguese gap, and 6 bells. After a final run off dead tree and west face, which was a bit wind scoured I called it quits and headed home to eat the entire kitchen. Sorry no pics
Tomorrow brings along day with Mountain Patrol doing training from the 730 am meeting until 2nd sweep till 530. Should be interesting on sore legs.
