Longtime FTO readers may remember our "Powder Daize" video from last winter starring our own Liftlines user JimG. :D Well, the story from that day has now been published, and may be found here. JimG, see if that brings back memories of that day, which was hands-down the best eastern snow I enjoyed all last season.

just finally watched the vid a few days ago, definetly looked like a sweet day. Very nice write up too. Makes me wanna go ski this little gem even more. Theres so many little ski gems that I wanna try and hit this season. Sadly though I doubt I'll get to very many of them. My whiteface/gore pass will get more use than anything else.

Great article Marc; I too doubt I'll forget skiing thru the woods and complaining there was TOO MUCH SNOW and too little pitch to link turns!
Just looked at the video again too; now I'll have to explain to my boss why I've been sitting here with a sh*tkicking grin on my face!

great article! man, that video brought a smile to my face watching it again. marc, what else are you gonna unload on us in this month of torture before the lifts turn?

I've got lots waiting in the wings to spread out over a season. Much of it will be delivered over the coming weeks, but I have yet to decide which ones will be pre-season. On the list of upcoming resort features is:

  • Hickory Ski Center, NY (including video from their Telemark Festival)
  • Sutton, QC
  • Bear Creek Club, VT
  • Valhalla Powdercats, BC
  • Whitewater, BC
  • Snowbird, UT
  • Alta, UT
  • Park City, UT
  • Deer Valley, UT
  • Gore Mt., NY
  • Belleayre, NY
  • Red Mt., BC
  • Back Country Ski Fest, Scotland
  • Blacktail Mt., MT
  • Mt. Abram, ME
  • Bromley, VT
  • more that escapes me at the moment

I'm really looking forward to hear about Red Mountain. I went there once about 8 years ago, and it was one ganrly mountain. I wonder how it has changed ( but I really hope it hasn't ).
I may even try to head back there this winter...

I take issue with Vajtay's comment that Plattekill is ?the last undeveloped ski resort within three hours of the greater New York City area.?

Bobcat is a quarter hour south of P-kill.

Sorry, that was my post. Forgot to sign in.

Marc, If you've got something on Valhalla Powder Cats please get it up ASAP. We've got a whole group about to pull the trigger on reserving 3-days in January!
