Quebec opens...

If we can talk about an "opening"...

Mt Edouard, in Saguenay Lac St-Jean was open, this weekend, with the beginner hills, with the huge snow accumulations from 2 weeks ago. It was more a snowpark than some normal turns, but still.

Actually, I'm wondering though if I'm going to consider it like the 1st ski area to open here, because it's still just about 5% of the vertical of the mountain...

Woodbury only had the rope-tow open.

Edelweiss open a few years ago just the beginner lift with maybe 15% of the vertical.

The problem I have with Edouard would be that it was snowboard/park event was it not? Do they plan to be open next weekend? I don't think so.

This would almost be like considering St-Sauveur's Summer Maddest Ski Race in September(?) as the first day of the year.

What do you think?

Hmm, at St-So, there is no lift to go uphill in late august / early september... it's a t-bar or rope tow that was open at Mt Edouard, with about 100' high open on full coverage, full width + snowpark...

It's quite more like Woodbury than like St-Sauveur on Labor day weekend...

You're probably correct in the Woodbury comparaison, however I might be wrong here, but I think the difference was that Woodbury was trying to open for the season, not just a weekend event like Edouard?

It was for that weekend open that Edouard only, correct?
