Wow !!! <BR> <BR>(this is the only word that I can say after a day in the kind.) <BR> <BR>My best ever at la Réserve ? YES... and from far. <BR> <BR>My best ever at all in any ski area ? It would be too fast to say it, but it's in my top 5 ever for sure. <BR> <BR>On the menu : <BR> <BR>100% open (except the upper part of a boring intermediate, for snowmaking) <BR> <BR>powder : 16 inches with places of 24 inches. <BR>I've made the very first track of the day in the following trails : Chute Libre (dedicated to Salida (pics of that in the evening), Sous-bois (WOW !!!!!) Pirouette Headwall, Couloir, Lavoie (WOWOWOWOW !!!!!) <BR> <BR>There was enough snow and a good base, so we almost never touched some rocks. The super extreme trails like the Pirouette Headwall were in the best shape I've ever seen (too much incredible !). I was with a friend with a camera that can take some little movies. His computer is down now, but we'll manage to put online the video of one run into the Pirouette Headwall. Less than 20 seconds to make all this monster pitch. <BR> <BR>We took a ton of powder shots, cause there was still first tracks to do at the end of the day, particularly in "La Luge" which was simply amazing with all that snow ! <BR> <BR>The glades were absolutely perfect and it was just amazing all day long... with a blue sky in the morning... and 1+ inch of snow fallen at the end of the day ! lol <BR> <BR>More report and pics this evening... <BR> <BR>What an incredible day... I still can't believe it !!!!!!

It's a pleasure for the run !! <BR> <BR>Yeah, la Réserve is truly one of our best ski areas... for powder, ski without lines and of course : extreme challenge. When they reopened in 2001-02, they were litteraly saying that they were a ski area for extreme skiers. The problem have been that that season su**ed and these extreme trails were only open few weeks in the season. There is not enough groomed terrain on the top of the mountain (this will change this year, cause we lose the "Luge" in favor of a groomed black trail), so the intermediate trails were open (in 2001-02), but with no intermediate skiers... so they did a big loss in 2001-02 and they still manage to survive now. I hope that they will !!

Frank NICE video, that looks awesome, nice rocks in the middle must have been fun. Thats cool to that you got the video online. <BR> <BR>porter <BR> <BR>ps Im leaving for colorado tomorrow and will not be skiing but might come back with a few pics of the mountains for you guys.

I would add a little song on that video. I found one that goes perfectly with that run ;) Suddenly, the run becomes 10x more interesting to look ! <BR> <BR>Have a great trip out west !! Bring us a lot of pics of the big mountains. Hopefully you will ski soon !!!
