It's shame it didn't do that in March...

While I agree on the surface with your statement, it's funny that you should mention this. I've heard so many people say stuff like: "ughhh... so annoying that it should snow in april and not march... i've already hung up my sticks!"

i've got no sympathy for people thinking like this (not sure if you're one of them)... all i can say is: "take the sticks BACK OFF THE WALL!"

Amen...skiing isn't over until I say it's over!!! :stir:

Ski season never ends, it just moves to a different place.

No New York is too far...like Sugarloaf. :stir:

In April it's more a matter of scheduling than that of me not wanting to take my skis down.

Yes, it is too far from the northern places, but if there had been snow in the Catskills in March and not burner heat I would still be able to hit the Catskills. Anyhow, I'm getting into the warm weather activities now, and I'm looking forward to sea kayak season.

it did. sugarloaf got 64 inches in like 5 days, i was there.

Forgot it Rog, Sugarloaf is too far, it might as well be out West.

It is much much much easier for me to get out west than it is to go to Sugarloaf.

Echoes of that out here. No snow in SoCal mountains last 2 weeks of March but snow every week in April. Alta had more snow in the first half of April than in all of March. Mammoth is likely to have its 3rd highest April after an average March.

I agree 100% with gpetrics, but if you live where rfarren does that probably means go west.

Stowe will be looking even better after the foot of fresh that is supposed to fall through Thursday.

Snowbird will be looking even better after the one to two feet of fresh that is supposed to fall through Thursday...atop a 105-inch base.

This is about the East and the skiing is definitely better than the silly pics that have been posted above.

The pic was fine I thought. It's the skier that was silly.

It is striking how much better coverage is in the Sugarloaf pics than in those from Stowe and presumably Jay, the current dump notwithstanding. Given JSpin's report on the density of the new snow there's going to be a lot of bottoming out on dirt/rocks at Jay tomorrow IMHO, except maybe for those like River who climb above the open Jet lift.

Maine has had a better season relative to NVT than usual, but Sugaloaf's snowfall has still been only 75% of Jay's (vs. 60% on average). Is Sugarloaf really that much colder in winter/spring?

Basically, yes.
