Snowbasin cuts pass prices drastically

Snowbasin just announced pricing for its passes and they're cheaper -- by a lot! The equivalent of their full pass from last year is $649 instead of $999. And there is a no frills, some blackouts pass for $449. This is huge. Park City started this, now Snowbasin one-upped them. Colorado prices are here, people!
I was debating whether to get their pass this year -- all the driving. But I will be sure to get one now.

I hope so. I mean, it would get depressing at times on weekdays. Just me doing laps on John Paul, hoping to time my arrival at the lift with one of the 5-10 other people there, just so I'd have company going up. There'd be nobody looking up-and-down John Paul's chairs. And that's a lot of chairs.

Feeling bad about all the great food they'd put together at John Paul Lodge, only to have it carried down every day. All those cooks standing around, waiting for me to order something. Snowbasin can accommodate a lot more people on schooldays without any crowding.

+1 As we have just been reminded at June Mt., there is such a thing as a ski area being too empty. My time at Snowbasin has been mostly weekends, and I see a gradual but steady increase in business over the past decade.

The mark of an eastern skier - always worrying about crowds.
I wish I was an eastern skier, apparently I'm just an easterner now...

Yikes. You need to start getting that workaholic thing under control. Surely you can at least find a few random days in the Catskills (assuming it actually gets cold this year).

Heck if Greek Peak actually opens I might even get a few eastern skier days this year.

I know, but it's a tough thing to do. I am going to be on tour straight from Feb-May(domestic), and then from June-Sept(UK, northern europe), next year. I can't really risk injuring myself either and jeopardize this, maybe in a couple years with more solidity I'll be able to swing a proper vacation. The worst part is that I have a few dates in March/April that swing through SLC, Santa Fe, and Denver/Boulder. It'll be the biggest tease ever.

OK. I'm a moron. You told me but.... what do you play and what kind of music? Or is it performance art? Or dance? Or stand up comedy?

A few of us have seen you ski. Would you be taking any more risk than in the streets of NYC? Not saying you should take time off but a few turns while touring
SLC, Santa Fe, and Denver/Boulder
would not seem unreasonable.
