Weather looked most promising for Western Maine ('Loaf not worth it, early season, anyways, for a day trip), so I headed to SR. Warm and dry to around Bryant Pond, then it started spitting rain. Shiite.
No rain in Newry. The view up from South Ridge was bleak, ribbons of snow and dirt patches. WTF, I'm here, guzzle the luke cold coffee, boot up ant hit the slopes.
Ecstasy had some rock and dirt showing, a little the worse for wear. Monday Morning wasn't bad at all, stay skier's left, same with Sunday Punch.
Upper Sunday Punch was spotty. I didn't get to Cascade until later in the day and it was generally bulletproof.
Right Stuff was funky. Hard up top, some narrow ribbons lower down, but as the temps dropped, it was the first trail they really opened up the guns on. Interestingly, the elevated HKD's were putting out stickey Elmer's Glue for snow, while the tripod mounted guns on Ecstacy were creating faux Mid-Winter conditions.
OK, I've had better. Assuming you don't get hurt, can you really have abad day of skiing?
