Ok, we partially missed that one, but it's not that bad.

Considering that there was snow on the lower elevations, the upper ones should have got some light powder, rather than some wet snow like in the lower elevations !

The accumulations of the day :

- Jay Peak : 20" (8h)
- Sutton : 18" (6h)
- Val Saint-Côme : 14"
- Stowe : 12"
- Saint-Sauveur : 12" (7h30)
- Mad River Glen : 10" (6h15)
- Sugarbush : 10"
- Cannon : 8" (6h45)
- Garceau : 8" (probably the same for La Réserve, but it means 14" for the official opening day cause they got 6" monday and no rain... report tomorrow evening )
- Tremblant : 7"
- Whiteface : 5" (6h) Whoops

It's about that, actually, cause a lot of ski areas didn't post a snow report this morning (Wildcat, Smuggs, Orford, and all the other ones in QC that could have received a ton of snow... like the Massif du Sud (and "du Nord")

"To check list"
- Belle Neige : already 7" at 5PM yesterday while it just turned into snow here. Check also Vallée-Bleue and Alta, its neighbours.

- Orford : they got 6" of stuff already yesterday at 4PM, but I think it was only true for the summit... and the main side is not open yet. It will open with the CHondola saturday !

If you want to see how much it rained,
go here (Morrisville, VT shown as an example)
http://www.weatherunderground.com/US/VT/Burlington/KMVL.html, locate "history and almanac", select a date (yesterday the 17th) /Go. Scroll down. You'll see the rain started about 11am, changed to snow around 7:30pm last night. --> about 8 hours of rain, then snow ever since!

Excellent MRG webcam site, updated every half hour. Great links too - go here - http://webcam.voigtnet.com/
Nice parking lot snow pile pushed up this AM. Most honest webcam I've seen anywhere.

Looks like they got a real 10+" of snow !

nice big snowbanks at mrg!!!!!!!!!!!!!
looks like a repeat of the last year.i wonder if jan 04 will be like 12 degrees every day for weeks at a time.....

Hey
I would jsut like to point out that mad river glens snow banks are a lot higher than they have ever been in past years. Look at the image gallery and it shows pictures of prior dumpings and this year only in the beginning of december the banks are already bigger than they were last year on march 22. WOW

porter

Actually, here it doesn't look at all like last year.

Last year, we got a total of 2" of snow in the whole december, here.

This year, up to now, we're at 22" of snow in this december !!! I really prefer this year !!!!

I hope that it will continue to fall like that !!! (on the long term GFS, it looks to have something in 5-6 days, but it's just some speculation actually !)

It snowed 8-10 inches in Burlington last evening and night...quite a show around 10pm with thunder, lighting, and heavy snow. It snowed 4 inches between 9 and 11pm last night which was a nice addition to our swelling snowpack. I love when a forecast for 3-6 inches turns into 10.

The mountains were socked in all day. I never did get a view of the Greens today and Mad River Glen's 12 inches of new snow today on top of the 12 from last night confirms why. It dumped all day in the mountains.

There is so much snow in nothern VT right now. Jay has 90 inches settled natural snow at the base. Enough said.

-Scott
