Opening weekend at Lincoln Peak. Woke up, looked outside and had an immediate forecast hangover. Prognostication euphoria of the night before immediately was reduced to an inch or two, plus drizzle.

On to the mountain, the snow was wet, and there was more of it, especially at elevation. Skiing was excellent, nice ego snow, no ice, just limited. OrganGrinder, Jester and Downspout. Accessed by SuperBravo and Heaven's Gate. Skied till 1:00 and then did a "tag team" with my wife.

On Sunday, I didn't have high hopes as it had gotten colder and 2" of additional accumulation fell. I was assuming a dust on crust scenario. I was dead wrong. The snowpack never was saturated, and again, ice was non-existent. More terrain was open to begin the day, Starting with Murphy's. Then all hell broke loose as they opened pretty much everything off the summit. Freshies for all. Creamy consolidated snow. Excellent turns. Much better than expected.
