Few liftserved options in the East on the last weekend in April.
Mont St-Sauveur - 2 runs for $?
Mont Ste-Anne - better trail count, but limited to the North side.
Killington - maybe 8 trails by their count for $42 ($39 if you had a pass)
Jay with Jet had something like 10-15 trails I believe then...
...there was the King Of Spring.
Compared to the competition:
Vert=check
runs=check
snow=check
price=check.
All this for a $35 for lift ticket too.
Trail count was around 50 on Friday, but dove down to upper 20s for the Sunday I believe..that didn't stop us. Not matter how far, plates weren't limited to Maine. Many from all around, Ice aka Rog, Lange Girl aka Emily, Lucky aka Luke, Patrick aka MadPat, Lange Girl Junior aka Vero and Lucky Kid aka Alex, plus the MeatHeads, BobR and Cornhead who drove many hours to get here. Although I didn't see many of them (I wouldn't have recognize most of them), the loaf is a big place, even when it's this late in the season.
So we had a bunch of people with a bunch of different conditions. Heavy Fog on top of Spillway in the morning to Bluebird in the PM. Cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon. Jacket or no jacket. HSQ or good old double. Ski to the bottom of the lift or walk to the HSQ. Good skis in the am and rock skis in the pm, groomed open trails, bumps or bushwacking. Skiing liftlines, zipper lines, park lines or simply t-bars lines. Chucking rocks, skiing sweet orgasmic untouched corn, skiing grass and mud. Under or around ropes or simply trails without ropes. With ton of snow or with walking required. As mentioned in another thread, bumped into Rog at the ticket booth then saw him skiing a few times or he saw us. Corn was too good to stop and wait.
Fun day all around. Best day (let alone skiing) I've had in a long long time. It felt good. 25k for pure fun.
