SUNDAY RIVER 11/29-11/30

well, the skiing this year sure beats what we had last year at this time.

the past two days have provided perfect soft groomed surfaces and no crowds to change it to anything else. yesterday was about as bluebird as bluebird gets and today started off sunny and temps were a bit warmer with clouds on the increase for the inch of rain that will do no harm to the blown base at the riv.

with 4 lifts, 20+ trails open, and maybe 1-200 skiers, it was country club skiing.

today we made a video:

weekend should be great!

which santa are you? \:D/

I caught the hat.... =D>

I Have been out eight times at the River. I have missed 5 days I would normally make. Responsibilites and commitments are over till May.

The snow making attack really is not anything you can get a feel for unless you are actually there and see all the guns going at once. There are very few complaints from folks on the hill. I was suprised on how many people were around last weekend, but the terrain spread folks out and lines were no issue other than South ridge. That took 3 min in the singles line. Monday M on Sunday after they dropped the ropes was pretty damn fun. Can't wait to be up next weekend again.

is this you too? http://www.sundayriver.com/DailyReport/ ... 30cam1.jpg

ah yes, the hat. my favorite. yesterday was day 7 for me. a few days ahead of last year.

yes, that pic is of me just starting to get the alpine touring rig up on edge for the next carved turn. race skis woulda been fun on that particular run.

for some reason, monday morning was never opened after you skied it sunday. there were other trails they coulda opened, but i think they were letting them sit and drain.
it's amazing the kind of product the riv puts out. great time of year to ski on slopes/snow that really allow you to get the legs/turns goin with no other distractions. great training for when the snow starts to fall.

till sunday or monday.......

Form was fine in the shot. I would guess they wanted MM to cure and groom it to cover a couple of water bars. Looking forward to escapade to be added as well as grand rapids and Amex. The link trails to get to Aurora have had some work done on them. Can't wait till Aurora opens. That is where I spend most of my time. Vortex and Black hole suck don't ever ski there go right to Jordan. O:)

Looks like fun.

WHO ME? NO!

was fun fer sure man. like a whole other sport over there. the whole crew just finding the best snow to ski, sometimes skier left of this or right of that, up and over the berm, back onto the trail. skiing the way i like it. not just aimlessly going down not thinking about anything. that's what pow skiing is for. i love pow skiing, but i also love skiing everything else. pow will come, always does. till then.......turn, turn, turn..........
