This was the warmest ski day ive had this season by far... I think it might have actually gone above freezing (!) The snow conditions were kind of lame.... what Tremblant likes to call "groomed powder" (aka thin cover + ice). No need for anything more than sunglasses.... although i ended up periodically putting my hat and gloves back on. Crowds werent too bad, I was expecting far worse with all these holiday weeks. Dynamite looked alot nastier than it was -- aside from the stray rock here or there the headwall was actually really easily edgeable. The pictures taken didnt work out as well as hoped for, due to laziness and poor photography (regarding any action-photos) but one picture of Les Bouleaux came out beautifully (where we took a "beverage" break), just as proof that it was actually warm and sunny at Tremblant in February: <BR> <BR><A HREF="http://mitglied.lycos.de/n3vs/pictures/bouleaux.jpg" TARGET="_top">http://mitglied.lycos.de/n3vs/pictures/bouleaux.jpg</A> <BR> <BR>-Sven
 
Hi Sven ! <BR> <BR>Thanks for the report ! <BR> <BR>Do you remember our chat conversation in december about Mt Alta. If you're in the region, saturday, the conditions will surely be amazing. I will be there (I HOPE at least), and I'm going to be at la Réserve sunday... we could meet us if you want and if you're not too much busy at fu**** school ! <BR> <BR>Let's pray for snow !!! The ETA and GFS look so promising !!!
 
Ahhh... I would be up for it but we're taking the weekend off from skiing & visiting New York City.... I've got all of next week off though -- I'll probably be at Tremblant most of the time, but maybe MRG or elsewhere is in the plan somewhere. Where do you think you will be skiing next week? I almost wish I had picked this weekend to ski though, based on the expected snowfall (I hardly even remember the last time we got a good one...) Cheers <BR> <BR>-Sven

Next weekend is not sure yet. I should go to Orford at least once this year, but with the holidays, may be it won't be the best time... I'll see !
 
Hi Sven, <BR> <BR>I'll be in Sutton all week long, though maybe teaching. Conditions are quite good, with some powder available off-trails. If ever you go to the townships for a day, drop me a note... Max
