Tremblant , Quebec ( May 6 )

Hiked the Southside of Tremblant (Grand Prix, Beauvallon) on Friday (May 6) and can report that the snow coverage on these blue cruiser trails was holding up well under the sunshine and warm temperatures. Thanks to the heavy concentration of artificial snow, coverage was good enough that you could actually get a decent run in, unfortunately didn?t have my skis (or camera) just my hiking boots. Overall conditions were similar as the pictures posted on La Reserve but with a bit more coverage as the Tremblant summit is a bit higher than La Reserve. ( Surprisingly the summit at Tremblant is only 2871? above sea level while La Reserve is 2600? .The difference is that Tremblant has the
2000? of vertical while La Reserve has 1000? Even without the skis is was great to be on the trails without the usual 10,000 skiers that this area regularly attracts since IntraWest arrived.

I am pretty sure a few snow patches will survive into June on the top side of the North side (ie. Lowell Thomas, snow park).

Yeah, sure !

Here is a pic from last may 22, on the upper north side. (3 days before, we were shocked by a pic of Superstar with about 0 snow left even on the lower pitch !)

An advice : avoid to climb the lower part of the north side (via the beginner trail), with an old Buick Century... it's not a good idea, I know what I'm talking about !
