Tremblant - Sunday April 10th 2005

After reading a lot of your posts, I decided to register and to post :wink: I've posted a few message as guest last year. (Old forum)

Anyway, yesterday I skied at Tremblant. I skied with Patrick in the afternoon for a few runs (Vertige, Grand-Prix, Expo and a few more trails). Conditions were not great before noon. Everything was frozen even some groomed trails especially on the upper south side.

There were still a lot of snow on the trails but some were just about to close due to bare spot. But it's fun to ski arround them

My favorite trail was La Grand-Prix. The moguls were just out of this world 8) But some id**** were stopping in the middle of my line :evil: The Expo was fun too but much harder to ski.

Geez , I didn't know what I was getting into when Éric asked me if it's was okay to film me on Upper Expo? It was the first time I actually skied with someone from a ski forum (unless I knew them before they joined). Never meet him before, I guess he wanted to film me to see that I really existed.

I am generally not a skier that likes to ski for the camera.

I was up with the family. I did a few runs with Eric in the afternoon, having sent me a PM on Friday.

Sunday was a great day (Saturday was also great at Fortune, report later).

Negative points:

Afraid Morgane (7yr old daughter) would become Road-kill on Beauvallon (Blue run) prior to the opening of the bumps runs.

Someone jumps on a jumped on Alpine and landed next (intentionally) to my wife who was stop at the side of the trail and throw an insult at her. :x I was really pissed off and started after him. Boy, was I mad. I calmed down before catching up to him.

One more reason NOT to like the Tremblant experience when not skiing alone.

Great video from Tremblant, I agree Tremblant can be dangerous for young kids with the all the yahoo?s out there. Attached are a couple of pictures from our neighbourhood ski hill in Val David , Quebec with only 400? vertical but with the correct pitch to make it interesting. My 8 year old son likes going off the home made jumps. He actually landed this one.

If yes, this is where I started skiing in late december 1989. A very small place which didn't change since :lol:

Some trails were too crowded yesterday at Tremblant. I agree that it's not the best conditions for kids at all. I yelled to a few poeple (mostly teens snowboarders) which stop in the middle of the Grand-Prix blocking my way. It's always with them that I have problems. :evil:

For the best spring conditions at Tremblant, go during the week if possible

paddy old boy: u ski a pretty direct line and your hands are up pretty high.. both good things for bumpers
try getting a little more absorption ( try to get to at least 90 degrees , even in corn bumps ) when pressing the frontside of the bump and extending a little quicker by driving your knees and u'll be killin it

You got me joe :lol: , I sometimes ski bumps.

Maybe I should join you on a Summer bump camp at Blackcomb. :wink:
