Once again, it was prime time for the Thanksgiving Day Club. On Thanksgiving morning at 07:30:00 EST, I met Dana at the traditional meeting place. Nobody else showed up ? perhaps everyone else has real lives.

Anyway, we trudged over to Conifer where we were able to see snowmaking whales blanketing the crossover road. I skinned up and Dana scaled up on his Fischer Rebounds. Over snowmaking whales, grass and mud we went. Near the top, Dana the seasoned guide who knows Wachusett?s daunting north face  better than anyone I know, said enough is enough as the whales would be spaced farther apart nearer to the summit and it would not be worth the arduous climb. So off we went on our epic descent, making turns on the wet whales and stepping across the bare spots all the way down to the crossover road. Conditions were a bit better than last year which is documented as follows: http://www.narsil.org/Dana/Turkey_2003/Turkey_2003.html which means that on a scale of 1-10, it went from a 2 to a 2.5 - classic Thanksgiving Day Club conditions

Oh well, they were turns ??sorta?.
