Weather this week/weekend

I was wondering if this a vacation week for our Canadian friends?
Spring Break for Quebec schools is this week.

Ontario Spring Break is the following week.

The snow quality was really good - B+ I'd say. It did get a bit manky in the late afternoon on Sat on some aspects.

After lunch (2pm) we went back out and it seemed so much more difficult to ski. Wasn't sure if the snow had changed, or we were just so darn tired.

Sunday the legs weren't moving as well as they were on saturday. Definitely burned ourselves out in that deep powder.

Did you ski Twister on Sunday? It was our last run, and on tired legs, it seriously wore us out. We thought it would never end. Surely a beautiful glade, but the snow quality deteriorated with elevation and by the last quarter of that glade it was pretty darned stiff/refrozen and was not an easy ski.

I know my problem on Saturday afternoon was my legs. Originally I thought my problems was new skis - I picked up a pair of World Pistes from the Mountaineer in Keene Valley and was having problems adjusting. But on Sunday after a good nights sleep - I was rippin again. I think my problem was getting to bed at 12:30 Friday night after a long drive, and not getting much sleep Thurs night (work related).

Probaby like you, after spending WHOLE day up top, I rode Tannery, to the Topridge Chair to Ruby Run, so I could hit Twister. As I was blazing down Twistie, I notice the Glade still open and I ducked in. It was CRUNCHY and tough work.

Still - LOVED it all.

PS - hit Whiteface this am - on the first Gondi. A foot of fresh fluff was on top and it was INCREDIBLE. It was alternating blizzard and sunshine. Only had 3 hrs, and I had never been here before. Did laps on Upper Skyward, Paron's(?) and finsihed with the 10th mountain glade. Not really sure how I got there - just followed a snowboarder in there. It was great, especially now that I seem to be adjusting to new mid-fat skis.
