Another beautiful day in the ADK. Harvey44, Patrick, Cheez Blintz, and I got after it.
Whiteface doesn't get much love in the ski forum world, but it's a big-league hill with lots of interesting lines. And all of the 3,160 lift-served feet are usable except the very end. There are some nice glades, sweet bump fields, and so on, but mainly, it's about letting it rip at top speed. I really loved Upper Mackenzie and Empire (we ignored the unnecessary rope), while Patrick and Harvey44 grooved on Blazer's Bluff.
Fantastic to finally ski with two of FTO's most hardcore ECers. After being refused entry to The Slides, Harvey44 had a few noteworthy spills and face plants. If you've never skied with Patrick... "Le Barbu" is, to put it mildly, a really strong skier. You don't mind eating his dust, because he's so much fun to watch.
Spring skiing doesn't get better than this, so I'm ready to say buh bye to my 2007-08 season.
