Well, it wasn't worth reporting Monday or Tuesday. On Monday, Whiteface shut down all but the few lowest lifts due to wind and cold. Tuesday was just more of what earlier days had been: hard and scratchy. At least we had the pleasure of Jimski's company.

On Wednesday, however, we awoke to moderate snow falling in Lake Placid. Up on the hill, we started the day with about 3" of new, and at times throughout the day snowfall came down at an inch or two per hour, leaving a total of 6" or more on the ground by the time we hit the road at 3:00. It was a wet snow (it was snain in the afternoon at Placid), so while it adhered well to the hardpack underneath, skier traffic pushed it into heavy piles as it was cut up.

The run of the week occurred near the end of the day in the woods to skier's left of Mountain Run, just below 2200 Road. A half foot of untracked snow, with the perfect spacing between the trees. It was a fitting finish to an enjoyable week.
