One more time...on my second 2-for-1.

One week later, but this time with my friend from Bromont and his two kids for much of the day. Main menu was corn with a bit of icing here and there plus a rare occasion, chocolate chips. :?

With the cold overnight temps the coverage didn't really suffer this week. However there's always a few exceptions to that rule.

Upper Valley - to be avoid at all cost. This trail had probably less than 1 inch of base and it wasn't snow. The trail was frozen slush with stones are over the place. The neighbouring Broadway was beautiful compared to it, however watch behind that last roll...no snow on 3/4 of the trail. I headed up skiing across 30-40ft of mud/rocks/grass full tilt.

Lift running this week:

Mountain Run double was running instead of Little Whiteface.
Gondola and Summit.
Plus the beginners' double at the bottom.

The lift configuration (Mountain Run instead of Little W) was a bit of a drag, because we had to ski to the bottom if we wanted to ski off the top of Little Whiteface or the Summit.

TRail count was lower. Major trails closed since last sunday were Mackenzie and Cloudspin. We actually did our last run on Mackenzie (the kids were with their mom), still nice and a bit choppy. Walk or difficult traverse at the bottom was needed as the bottom coverage of the trail had melted away.

Northway and Essex were still slick.
Cloudspin, Approach, Thruway and Mountain Run were great.
Tom Cat was amazing. Definitely the best run to make down the mountain.
Lower Valley bad, Upper terrible.

We did the half pipe probably a half dozen times (each time we skied to the bottom). The Younger kids loved it as well as their dad and his friend from Ottawa. :P

Although I skied with my friend's kids most of the day (10 and 7) and started skiing at 10:30pm we racked up the verts.

14 runs - 9300 meters (almost 31k).
The 10yr old left us after 5300 and his 7yr old sister continued until 6800meters. Great job kids. =D>

Let's say my ears were ringing... however I think that had more to do with the previous night at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs concert in Montreal. :-s

Last call for WF next weekend.

No I didn't get a digital camera.

Here are my friend's pics taken from Zoneski.

that last shot is a nice one! the slides don't look very steep in the other picture. is that because of the camera angle?

The Summit Chair is fairly steep and taking a picture uphill definitely doesn't do anything in conveying the steepness of it.

About the pictures, my friend digital camera has a huge delay before it actually snaps the picture. He was saying action pictures were difficult to take with his camera, I decide to make it more difficult. Instead of skiing the same route as his kids, I, all of a sudden made a hard turn and went off in the trees.

My friend is from Ottawa region will be visiting family for Easter, so we might go back skiing at Whiteface together.
