Wildcat was fantastic today. Conditions would have been pretty good had this been mid-late december. For october, what a treat! Good quality snow and quite a bit of it. The top of the mountain isn't open, despite having the best snow, because the only lift to get there hasn't passed the state inspection yet. But the Tomcat triple was open and allowed you to access basically all of the bottom 1500 of vertical. I'd get there fast though -- it's melting quickly.

Some pictures (click on the pictures for a larger view):

Riding up the Tomcat Triple, the Mountain Jag glade, which was closed although there was rampant poaching. This is lower down on the mountain, so somewhat less cover than higher:

A shot of Mount Washington from the top of the Tomcat:

A slightly closer view of Tucks:

And of Huntington Ravine (I think):

Madison and the like in the distance:

A typical ungroomed run (unfortunately they groomed most of the hill, but there were nice spots still to be found):

View of the mountain from the parking lot at the end of the day:

Camera batteries ran out during the day, so unfortunately not too many pictures. Woods may have been very marginally skiable -- though probably not terribly wise. By now I doubt they are except near the top.
