...WINTER STORM TO REMAIN OVER THE MOUNTAINS OF WESTERN COLORADO
AND EASTERN UTAH THROUGH MONDAY...

.A WINTER STORM WILL BECOME CENTERED OVER NORTHERN NEW MEXICO TODAY
WITH PLENTY OF CLOUDS AND MOISTURE ROTATING AROUND THE LOW AND OVER
WESTERN COLORADO AND EASTERN UTAH. COLDER AIR WILL MOVE OVER THE
AREA TODAY WITH THE SNOW LEVEL GRADUALLY LOWERING FROM ABOUT 10,000
FEET TO ABOUT 7500 FEET BY MONDAY MORNING.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE MOUNTAINS OF EASTERN UTAH
AND WESTERN COLORADO.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

WIDESPREAD RAIN AND SNOW WILL CONTINUE OVER THE MOUNTAINS OF EASTERN
UTAH AND WESTERN COLORADO LATE THIS AFTERNOON. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL
GRADUALLY LOWER TO ABOUT 7500 FEET BY THIS EVENING. SNOWFALL WILL BE
HEAVY AT TIMES. ROADS OVER THE HIGHER MOUNTAIN PASSES WILL BECOME
SNOWPACKED AND ICY...WITH WINDS GUSTING TO 40 MPH IN THE MOUNTAINS...
CAUSING AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

WIDESPREAD RAIN AND SNOW WILL CONTINUE MONDAY WITH ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS IN EXCESS OF 6 TO 12
INCHES ARE EXPECTED IN THE COLORADO MOUNTAINS...WITH 3 TO 6 INCHES IN
THE MOUNTAINS OF EASTERN UTAH.

GUSTY SOUTHWEST WINDS FROM 20 TO 40 MPH WILL CAUSE BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW OVER THE HIGHER MOUNTAIN PASSES. FOR MORE INFORMATION

Steady rain here all morning, Air temp is still high... looks like wolf creek will be getting a dusting though... :mrgreen:

I had dinner with Marc_C and Bob Dangerous last night. Bob hiked Snowbird yesterday, and reports that not only was most of Tuesday's snow still on the ground, but that it was positively dumping on the hill yesterday.
 
Hey guys! Just found this site on the net. Great stuff!!!.....I just starting skiing about 3 years ago, but am totally ADDICTED!! I am so psyched about this years ski season. I'll be headed out to Colorado in December and possibly again in January. Am planning a trip with my family for February, so hopefully it will be a year to remember! This weather forcast was 'music to my ears'.

Hope you guys 'out west' enjoy the white stuff tomorrow!!

I'll be dreaming of making turns sitting in my cubicle tomorrow!!! :cry:

I assume you are located in Utah. What are some good 'family' oriented places to stay and ski? My wife is a full blown novice, and I am a steady intermediate skier who occasionally gets the nerve to ski a Black every now and then. Just looking for a fun relaxing time where she can gain some confidence, and I can have some fun.

Snow sweetens slopes
SUMMIT COUNTY ? Local ski areas couldn?t be happier about Sunday?s snowstorm.

Breckenridge Ski Resort reported more than 30 inches of new snow Monday morning, while Copper Mountain reported 20 inches at the top of the lifts. Keystone?s measurement came in at 17 inches.

Arapahoe Basin didn?t have an official tally, but marketing manager Meisha Lawson estimated well over a foot of snow had fallen.

Loveland Ski Area reported 11 inches, which will help the mountain open earlier, said marketing director John Sellers.
