I am not sure what is going on with Zermatt, but operationally, it has not lived up to its potential in the 2020s.
I have only been watching closely for the last 4-5 years or so, but I noticed that many of its yellow itineraries never officially opened, even though they likely had adequate coverage by later in the season.
This has been the case for:
Also, even today in April, Cevinia keeps all its lifts and runs open, unlike Zermatt. Just seems odd.

- Rothorn
- Hohtalli (The Rote Nase Cable Car appears to have never opened to the public, which prevents most access to the Stockhorn zone.)
